Bluegrass Jam SessionsCheck the calendar, call us, or stop by the library for current schedules. Join us as we welcome our ever-popular troop of local musicians who will set up shop here at the library and jam to the tunes of traditional bluegrass, country and “old-time” mountain music. Bring in your guitar, banjo, fiddle, or harmonica and join in, sing along, or just listen. This event is fun, free, and open to everyone.
Friday Flicks @ the LibraryFridays at 2 p.m. Join us every Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. for a special showing of a well-known movie on our giant screen and hi-def projector. See movies the way they were meant to be seen. All movies are free and open to everyone. We’ll even supply the popcorn. For upcoming movie titles, ask at the front desk or call us. Frank Lloyd Wright: The Mayan InfluenceThursday, April 11th, 6:30 p.m. Noted architectural expert and historian, Frank Landi will present, “Frank Lloyd Wright: The Mayan Influence.” Mr. Landi, who has lectured throughout the country, will explore the influence of Mayan Indian architecture on some of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most famous structures. Learn computer basics including using a mouse and keyboard, working with windows, and basic computer terminology.
Creating Family Newsletters Ever wanted to make a snazzy newsletter to send to family and friends for the holidays? Learn how using Microsoft Publisher. Participants must feel comfortable using a mouse or have taken Computer Basics.
Creating Labels This class will show you how to create labels for mailing using Microsoft Publisher and creating a simple database to streamline the mailing of all those Christmas cards. Participants must feel comfortable using a mouse or have taken Computer Basics. (If bringing own laptop, class requires Microsoft Publisher.)
E-Mail Basics Feel like the last person in the world without an e-mail address? Learn how to sign up for a free e-mail account, and how to compose, send, reply to and forward messages. Participants must be familiar with the Internet or have taken Internet Basics.
Spreadsheets Using Microsoft Excel Learn to create, edit and format simple spreadsheets, perform calculations, save, print and open files in Microsoft Excel. Participants must feel comfortable using a mouse or have taken Computer Basics.
Internet Basics Want to know how to "Google" something? Learn the ins and outs of finding the information you need using the Internet. Participants must feel comfortable using a mouse or have taken Computer Basics.
Using Graphics Learn how to spice up your documents with graphics (word art, photos, text boxes, etc.) Participants must feel comfortable using a mouse or have taken Computer Basics.
Word Processing with Microsoft Word Learn how to create simple documents, edit and format text, correct spelling, adjust margins, save, print and open files in Microsoft Word. Participants must feel comfortable using a mouse or have taken Computer Basics.
